Free Web Tools!

I found a few free website tools that could help a lot with advertising and deciding on which websites to place ads on.

One of them is a link popularity checker. It allows you to enter the URL of any website and generates a list of how many in-bound links the site has on various search engines. The more in-bound links a site has, the more popular it is. If a site is popular, then you know that the site gets traffic and is worth advertising on. On the other hand, if the site only has a few in-bound links, you may want to reconsider placing ads on it. The link popularity checker can be found at: http://www.mikes-marketing-tools.com/link-popularity/
(you could also use it to see how popular your own websites are)

Also useful for checking website popularity, is Alexa site ranks. Alexa allows you to enter a site URL, and then generates information about the website’s traffic, demographics, and more.

Another tool is the Click Audit Ad Tracker. Click Audit allows you to register for free and track up to 10 advertisements/links per month. Basically, you enter a description for each ad, along with the URL that the ad is directed to. The tool then generates an alternate URL that you use in place of your actual URL when you advertise. It redirects the alternate URL to your website, and tells you how many "clicks" each specific ad is generating. This tool is a very valuable resource because it can help you to determine which ads are working, and which ones aren't. I have been using it to track my free classifieds advertisements. That way, I know which free classifieds sites work and which ones don't.
